ER Gabapentin Effective for Postherpetic Neuralgia in Phase III Trials

Extended-release gabapentin provides relief for postherpetic neuralgia, a Phase III study suggests. Although results did not reach significance at the study’s primary end point—pain relief after 10 weeks in comparison with placebo—encouraging data for pain relief, sleep quality and side-effect profiles suggest that further trials should explore once-daily dosing, according to one of the trial investigators. read more
